A personal note from Amble's founder.
I am a carer myself, I have three young children, two of whom have special needs. Like many, I have a busy full time job and barely enough time for my children, housework and life admin, so all too often, way too many days go by before I give my mum or my dad a call. An increasing number of us are carers, alongside our increasingly busy lives.
We talk about “mum guilt” - that ache of feeling you’re never quite there enough for your children.
But there’s a quieter guilt almost nobody names: the guilt of not being there enough for our parents.
Of living an hour, or a whole country, away. Of loving your family deeply but simply just not having enough hours in the day, or not being able to be in two places at once.
Our older generation have been through so much, they have raised us and supported us, we love them, and they deserve good times, laughter, to be heard and appreciated just as ever before.
