Amble — Terms of Service

Amble — Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 July 2026

  1. About these terms

  2. These terms apply to your use of the Amble website and, as it launches, the Amble service. By using the site or joining our waitlist or companion list, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The site and service are operated by Amble Companions Ltd (company no. 17357800), registered office 3 Ridings Barn, Loxwood Road, Alfold, Cranleigh GU6 8EW ("Amble", "we", "us").

  1. What Amble is — and isn't

  2. Amble is a companionship and social-support service. Our companions provide company, conversation, activities, and a friendly regular presence.

Amble does not provide personal care, nursing, medical or clinical care, medication management, or any regulated care activity. Companions are not carers, nurses, or medical professionals, and nothing on this site is medical advice. If you or your family member needs personal or medical care, please speak to your GP, local authority, or a regulated care provider.

  1. Early access / waitlist

  2. Amble is currently rolling out area by area. Joining the waitlist or registering as a companion means we'll keep your details and be in touch as we reach your area or have a match — it does not guarantee a place, a companion, or paid work, and there's no charge to join. We'll confirm the full terms of the service with you before you (or a companion) are matched or any money changes hands.

  1. Who can use Amble

  2. You must be 18 or over to sign up. If you're arranging Amble on behalf of an older person (for example a parent), you confirm you're entitled to share their details with us and to act for them, and that they're happy to receive visits.

  1. Companions

  2. People who register as companions are doing exactly that — registering interest. Becoming an approved Amble companion depends on completing our vetting (which may include an interview, references, identity and background checks, and short training). Registering does not create a job offer, employment, or any guarantee of work. The full companion terms, pay, and working arrangement will be set out separately before anyone is approved and matched.

  1. Fees and payment

  2. Pricing shown on the site (for example a visit price) is indicative and may vary by area and over time. Where the paid service is live, the price, what's included, and how payment works will be clearly confirmed before you book.

  1. Your responsibilities

  2. When you use Amble, you agree to give accurate information, to treat companions and older adults with respect, and not to use Amble for anything unlawful, unsafe, or outside its purpose (companionship — not personal or medical care). We may decline or withdraw access to anyone where we reasonably need to for safety or to protect the service.

  1. Safety and safeguarding

  2. The wellbeing of older adults and companions is our priority. If you ever have a safeguarding concern, tell us at hello@amblecompanions.com. In an emergency, always call 999. Amble is not an emergency or crisis service and should not be relied on as one.

  1. Our website

  2. We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, pause, or withdraw parts of the site or service as the business develops. The content, branding, and design of the site belong to Amble Companions Ltd and may not be copied or reused without permission.

  1. Links and third parties

  2. Our site may link to other websites or use third-party providers. We're not responsible for the content or practices of other websites.

  1. Our responsibility to you

  2. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law doesn't allow it (for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, Amble isn't liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our responsibility is limited to what's fair and reasonable in the circumstances.

  1. Privacy

  2. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

  1. Changes to these terms

  2. We may update these terms as Amble develops. The "last updated" date shows the current version, and continuing to use Amble means you accept the current terms.

  1. Law

  2. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales will deal with any disputes.
